Supporting Girls and Women Around the World

Days for Girls is an international movement and organization to increase access to menstrual care and education by mobilizing volunteers and innovating sustainable solutions that shatter stigmas and limitations for women and girls.

The FUMC-Brighton Days for Girls chapter (sponsored by the United Methodist Women-UMW) sews menstrual health kits.  60 kits were sent to women and girls in Liberia in 2023. Volunteers sew, press, cut and assemble drawstring bags and flannel liners for the kits. The group meets Wednesdays, 9 am – 12 pm.

Right now the donation needs are:

  • Washcloths
  • Girls and Women’s size underwear (no white. Colors and prints ok, but no animals, insects, cartoons, birds, etc.)

Please note: we do not need any fabric at this time.

Volunteer Opportunities

Days for Girls will meet in room 127 at the Brighton Campus on Wednesdays, 9 am – 12 pm.

This is a real and tangible way the church helps empower women and girls around the world!

In the spring of 2023 Pastor Jon delivered 60 menstrual health kits to Liberia. The women and girls who received them were delighted with the gift.
