The New Jerusalem Bible

Disciple

Classes to be announced soon for all Disciple Classes this fall. Watch for times and dates. Check here often.

Sign-up sheet is on the kiosk in the community room. Class size is limited, so sign up now! For more information, pick up a red handbook found on the Disciple bulletin board (also located in the community room), follow the link to Disciple I or contact Dawn Perkins. Childcare will be provided.

Consider this opportunity to read and study the Bible in a small committed group and be challenged in your discipleship. For more information contact Dawn Perkins,  or the church office.

Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study

Disciple is an approach to Bible Study that emphasizes disciplined reading of, and listening to, Scripture. It results in biblically nourished persons committed to live as disciples. During the course of 35 weeks, disciple groups move through the Scriptures form Genesis to Revelation. All Disciple Bible study participants will read more than 70 percent of the Bible. The Scripture for each session follows the chronological movement of the Biblical story. Disciple groups consist of 12 members and a leader and meet weekly for 34 weeks. Each participant makes a commitment to daily preparation (30-45 minutes per day) and weekly attendance at and full participation in the group sessions. Disciple aims at transformation, not just information. Disciple calls on persons to submit themselves to examination by scripture, to put themselves under the power of God's word and to be changed by God's word.

Disciple 1 - Wednesday during Crossroads - Room 109 - Dr Gil Miller

Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study gives equal time between the Old and New Testaments, emphasizing the wholeness of the Bible as the revelation of God. Disciple 1 aims at transformation, not just information.

Disciple 2 - Wednesday during Crossroads - Room 127 - John Phillips

Into The Word Into The World This 32 week study will read Genesis, Exodus, Luke, and Acts in their entirety. Participants will read familiar passages, seeing them in fresh ways and expecting God to speak through them.
