Easter Sunday Cantata

Easter Morning! Imagine it....
you enter the church, and you hear the many voices, and see the excited, smiling faces of people-adults and children all dressed up, some you know, some you may not, greeting each other on this special day. Then you finally make your way into the Sanctuary: the warmth of the room, the scent of the flowers, the sparkling banners and the cross, the musicians-instrumentalists and vocalists-all ready to fill the room with glorious music in honor of our risen Lord and Savior! The Easter Message this year will be proclaimed through an Easter Cantata, a celebration through music and word, called: "I Have Seen Him". It recounts Jesus appearances to people after his resurrection and before he ascended to Heaven, and this is an inclusive collection of faith songs from many different music traditions:  from the Hymn tradition, Celtic tradition, Gospel tradition, Middle Eastern tradition, Folk tradition, Classical tradition, Contemporary Tradition, and African/World tradition.
The 8:30 and 9:45 services will BOTH conclude with Handel's "Hallelujah Chorus" from The Messiah, and there will be copies of the music in the pew racks so that everyone in the room can sing from where they are. The 11:15 service concludes with "I Have Been Freed", a powerful song of praise and glory to God.
As a Community of Believers, we celebrate that Jesus Christ is the Risen Savior...for us and for the World.
