The Music Ministry Mission Statement

The BFUMC Music Ministry creates opportunities for musicians to develop their God-given gifts and skills, to lead the congregation in worship, to practice discipleship through music, and to deepen their personal relationship with God.

 

                                        

OPPORTUNITIES FOR VOCAL ARTISTS

 

Chancel Choir

Musicians gather weekly, Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Choir Room.

SATB Ensemble. Adults and Youth.

Leads congregation in worship during the 9:30 Traditional Worship Service.

Methodist Men’s Chorus

Musicians gather in the choir room. Date and time TBD.

TTBB (2-4 part) ensemble for Men. Adults & Youth.

Music ministry shared during selected Traditional Worship services.

Women’s Ensemble

Musicians gather on the 1st Tuesday of the month, 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary.

SSAA (2-4 part) ensemble for Women. Adults and Youth.

Music ministry shared during selected Traditional Worship services.

Senior Choir

1st Monday of the month at 11:15 a.m. in the CHAPEL. (front of Community Room)

Seniors sing beloved hymns/songs and share memories of growing up with these songs. 

The Senior Luncheon follows this session at 12:00 noon.

Solo & Ensemble Ministry Team

Opportunity for Adults and Youth vocalists and instrumentalists

to share solos, duets, and ensembles in worship.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN & YOUTH

 

Kids Choir

Gather immediately following Sunday School, 10:35 in the Choir Room.

Kindergarten through 5th grade. Traditional Christian Children’s Songs.

Children will share their music ministry during selected 9:30 worship services.

Two 5-week segments between September and December.

(New Schedule handed out in January)

Music of The Ark

Fall Schedule: 1st 6-week sessions= Tuesdsays, Sept.15-Oct. 20

4:00-4:25-Preschool Class…Miss Norma

4:30-4:55-K/1st gd. Class…Miss Mandi

5:00-5:30-2nd/3rd gd. Class & 4th/5th gd. Class…Both Teachers

Children experience a creative and thematic music curriculum

Classes include playing instruments, creative movement, singing, and much more.

Vocal Coaching For Kids & Youth

For children and youth who have the gift of singing.

Norma Nichols or Mandi Teeter will work with your child on an

individual basis. They will learn about what it means to sing in worship, and

prepare a song to share in worship. Contact Norma Nichols

 

 

U3 Youth Band

High School and College youth gather on Sundays, 5 p.m., Sanctuary.

Musical Gifts to bring: Singing, guitar, bass, drums, keyboard, songwriting.

Music Ministry shared during selected Contemporary Worship Services.

Schedule shared in September and January.

OPPORTUNITIES FOR INSTRUMENTAL ARTISTS

 

Echoes of Praise, Handbell Choir

Musicians gather on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. in the Bell Choir Room.

Music ministry is shared on the 2nd Sundays during Traditional Worship services.

First Bells

Musicians gather on Wednesdays at 5 p.m. in the Bell Choir Room.

Adults and Youth. Beginner Level. Contact: Barb Terry, Director

 

Rejoice Orchestra

Strings, Woodwinds, and Brass

Musicians gather in the sanctuary.

Music ministry shared during Christmas & Easter Seasons,

and other selected Worship services.

The Artists Circle

Worship Musicians Bible/Book Study Group

Saturdays, 10:00-11:00 a.m. in the Chapel

For all musicians and artists

Explore what it means to lead worship through music and art,

deepen one’s relationship with God,

and be transformed by faith. Open group discussion format.
