Angel Food Ministries has come to First
Church!!!
Angel Food Ministries is a non-profit,
non-denominational organization dedicated to providing grocery
relief and financial support to communities throughout the United
States. It began in
Monroe, Georgia in 1994 with 34 families and has grown to serve
thousands every month.
Many families have found that they can stretch
their food budget by utilizing this program -- THERE IS NO
ELEGIBILITY REQUIREMENT!!
Here’s how it works:
Every month a new menu is posted on the angel food ministries
website (www.angelfoodministries.com)
as well as on Brighton Firsts website (www.brightonfumc.org).
Each box of food cost $30, Seniors/On The Go boxes cost $28.
Each box consists of fresh as well as frozen foods.
Seniors/On The Go boxes consist of 10 complete frozen
dinners. There no
seconds, dented cans, day old bread, or out-dated labels.
All food is as fresh as what you would purchase at the
grocery. It is restaurant quality food.
The average retail value of each box is more than double the
purchase price.
Orders and payments are collected the first
part of the month and will be available for pick-up at the church on
distribution day.
All orders are pre-paid
–- any orders not picked up by the designated time on distribution
day will be given to a family in need.
