SUMMARY:Unclobber Book Study
DESCRIPTION:Pastor Jon Reynolds leads this five-week book study. Are you curious about what the Bible has to say about human sexuality and why people understand it differently? The book “UnClobber” re-examines six frequently quoted passages of Scripture — often called the “clobber passages.” The author invites us to look closely at what the Bible says (and does not say) about homosexuality in such a way that breathes fresh life into assumptions and interpretations.\n\nRegister online

In a time of resurgent racism\, antisemitism and nationalism\, Dr. Elliot Ratzman\, a research fellow at the University of Michigan\, explores the history of how some Christians and Jews have used and abused religion for violence and exclusion.  What can we learn from religious and secular groups about alternative paths forward\, embracing love and celebrating diversity? \nFollowing his presentation local religious leaders will comment on how our community finds our path forward today. SUMMARY:Standing Firm with Author Colby Martin
DESCRIPTION:Brought to you by LivFaith\, a community action committee of the Livingston Diversity Council. With a focus on how Scripture points to diversity and inclusion\, “Standing Firm” invites you to embody the ways of Jesus\, while also equipping you to engage with friends\, family\, and a society that is unkind and unwelcoming to LGBTQ people. If you are LGBTQ-affirming and hunger for ways to live out your faith in a world that is growing more and more anti-LGBTQ\, “Standing Firm is for you.” \nColby Martin has been a pastor for nearly 25 years. Though he began in the evangelical world\, since 2011 Colby has pastored in primarily progressive Christian spaces\, advocating for a Christianity rooted in the way of Jesus\, grounded in love\, and open to all people. As the author of two books (UnClobber\, and\, The SHIFT)\, Colby currently travels the country as a speaker and preacher. In 2024 he founded The UnClobber Initiative\, a ministry dedicated to elevating LGBTQ inclusive theology. \n\n\n\n\n\nRegistration recommended (link coming soon)\n\n\n\n\nContact Suzanne Everett

Items must be outside or in an open garage (volunteers can not enter your home\, thank you for your understanding).\n\n\n\nBy contributing your unwanted metallic items in this way\, you are reducing the amount of waste into land fills and contributing to mission work — all money raised from the salvaged metal is for Red Bird Mission projects. Volunteers separate the metal from donated items to increase the salvaged value.\n\n\nFun fact…….when tearing apart a dryer. We get nine feet of small wire\, the cord\, the motor\, a circuit board\, the outside casing\, which gets flattened\, and usually a metal drum.\n\nBy separating all these items\, more money is raised for missions.\nNote: when donating financially to this mission\, please specify “scrap metal drive.” Thank you!\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
