Seeking Actors for Maundy Thursday\, March 28\nEvery other year First UMC presents a re-enactment of the last supper on Maundy Thursday. We’re looking for 12 men to portray the 12 disciples. As a disciple of Jesus\, you sit in the pose of DaVinci’s “Last Supper” painting\, and one by one each disciple delivers a short soliloquy of what may have been their thoughts as Jesus says one of them will betray him. In a time of resurgent racism\, antisemitism and nationalism\, Dr. Elliot Ratzman\, a research fellow at the University of Michigan\, explores the history of how some Christians and Jews have used and abused religion for violence and exclusion.  What can we learn from religious and secular groups about alternative paths forward\, embracing love and celebrating diversity? \nFollowing his presentation local religious leaders will comment on how our community finds our path forward today.
