Severe Weather Network

The Severe Weather Network (SWN), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, partners with community organizations, agencies and faith communities to provide emergency, overnight refuge during the winter months for individuals experiencing homelessness.

First United Methodist Church will provide volunteers for the Severe Weather Network March 6-12, 2022.

The shelter is housed at Chilson Hills Baptist Church. Volunteers needed for:
  • Welcoming Guests at Check-in (5:45 pm – 8:30 pm)
  • Picking up donated food from local restaurants and bringing to Chilson Hills by 6 pm
  • Serving meals, cleaning up and visiting with guests
  • Laundry Monday, March 7 and Thursday, March 10 (pick up by 8 am and drop off by 5 pm)
  • Daytime chaperones on Sunday, March 6 (3 hour shifts)
