Living Faith • Seeking Justice • Pursuing Peace

C&S Logo_2024

The Church and Society Committee focuses on education, action and advocacy with decision-makers to eliminate the injustices experienced by marginalized people. The group, which formed November 2021, first advocated for public transportation options in Livingston County for people to get to work and church over the weekend.

In 2024 the Committee unanimously voted to join the Reconciling Ministry Network.

If you have questions or are interested in joining the group to learn more about justice and advocacy issues within the church and community please reach out to the church office, Bryan Facione, chairperson, or Suzanne Everett, Director of Mission and Justice Engagement.

Our local Church & Society Committee takes it name from the “big church” version, the General Board of Church and Society, which is dedicated to the work of living faith, seeking justice, and pursuing peace. Learn more about the General Board of Church & Society’s work at https://www.umcjustice.org/
