Supporting Girls and Women Around the World

Days for Girls is an international movement and organization to increase access to menstrual care and education by mobilizing volunteers and innovating sustainable solutions that shatter stigmas and limitations for women and girls.

The FUMC-Brighton Days for Girls chapter (sponsored by the United Methodist Women-UMW) sews menstrual health kits.  Since 2023, over 650 kits have been sent to women and girls in Liberia. Volunteers sew, press, cut and assemble drawstring bags and flannel liners for the kits. The group meets Wednesdays, 9 – 11:30 am.

Right now the donation needs are:

  • Washcloths
  • Underwear: Girls’ size (12, 14, 16) and Women’s size (6, 7, 8, 9); colors and prints ok, but no cartoons. No thongs or “boy shorts.”
  • Boys underwear is also welcome so we can give the boys at the Bishop Judith Craig Children’s Village new underwear when the Days for Girls kits are gifted.

Please note: we do not need any fabric at this time.
