Youth Trip to Washington DC (deadline to apply)

When: July 5-11
Who: youth ages 12-18 years old
Where: General Board of Church and Society
Estimated Cost per person: about $1,450
About the Trip: The Michigan Conference of the United Methodist Church is excited to offer a unique opportunity for our youth to travel to Washington, D.C. and experience the work of the church beyond the local community. During this trip, students will partner with the General Board of Church and Society to learn about real-world social issues such as poverty, justice, and public policy.
Youth will not only explore these topics but also gain practical skills in advocacy—learning how to thoughtfully and faithfully engage with leaders, including how to communicate with a senator or their staff.
In addition to this hands-on learning, we’ll have two days set aside to explore Washington, D.C.—visiting historic landmarks, monuments, and museums while building community and making lasting memories together.
This trip is a powerful chance for students to grow in their faith, deepen their understanding of the world, and discover how they can make a meaningful impact.
