Summer Youth Camp

Monday, February 20th, 2023

Children third through 12th grade are invited to register to attend summer camp at Wesley Woods! Parents are encouraged to inquire about volunteering, too (significant discounts available to families that volunteer). Request the sponsor code from Allison, Pastor Lindsey or the office, so that camp scholarship funds can be applied after you register.

• Elementary Camp (for those entering Grades 3rd – 6th in the fall)
• Middle School Camp (for those entering Grades 7th – 9th in the fall)
• High School Camp (for those entering Grades 10th-12th in the fall)

If June 23-29 does not work with your family’s summer plans, please consider any of the other camps happening throughout the summer at Lake Michigan Camp & Retreat (High School Adventure Camps) and at Wesley Woods Camp & Retreat (Elementary through High School, plus Grand Camp for grandparents and their grand kids!). Family Camping-August

Wednesday, January 4th, 2023

• Lake Michigan Camp & Retreat • Aug. 15-18  (Thursday-Sunday)

• Camp sites (water/electric), platform tents, cabins/bunk houses available
• Enjoy evening vespers and campfires together
• Saturday night dinner
• Sunday morning devotions
• Check out time is 1 pm.

A limited number of sites (in the 40s and 50s), plus a couple platform tents and bunkhouses are reserved under “Suzanne Everett/First UMC Brighton.” You must call 231-869-5627 and pay to hold your reservation (winter office hours are Tue, Wed, Thurs 10 am-6 pm).

Once you register with the campground, please send your name, email, cell phone and site number to suzanne@brightonfumc.org.

Amenities: swimming, hiking, playground, mini golf, prayer labyrinth.

Family Camping-May

• Location: Walnut Hills Family Campground
• May 17-19 (Friday-Sunday)
• Make your own reservations. A limited number of sites may still be available under “Gene Smith/First UMC Brighton.” Call 989-634-9782 and pay to hold your reservation.
• Sites 47-50; 171-174; 189-192; and Cabins 43 & 46
• Sites are $45-$55 / night (full hook-up, 50/30)
• Cabins are $90-120 / night
• Enjoy evening vespers and campfires together
• Saturday night potluck (Pavilion 2)
• Sunday morning devotions
• Amenities: swimming, fishing, canoeing, playground, hiking, hayrides
• Not a camper? Come out for the day and the Saturday potluck.
  Day visitors: $5/adult, $3/child (ages 3-18)
  Beach pass: $10/adult, $7/child
