At Brighton First United Methodist Church we believe that we are transformed by God to transform the world. Here are some of the many ways people of all ages and abilities can participate in transforming the world.
 
Ongoing Ministries Done in a Day Mission Trips
Hope's Closet - an outreach to the foster families of Livingston county providing furniture, clothing, diapers and Christmas presents.
NOAH Lunch Program - We provide over400 bag lunches for this ministry to the city of Detroit.
Appalachia Service Project for Youth- A one week trip for 9th grade - 21 year olds to work
on construction projects.
VINA Dental Clinic - a low cost dental facility providing care to low income, uninsured residents of Livingston county.
CASS Community Services- We provide physical labor via monthly trips, and financial support to this far-reaching Detroit mission.
Appalachia Service Project for Men - a 4 day weekend trip to Appalachia to make homes
warmer, safer and drier.
Fish and Loaves - A community meal serving allwho come seeking food and fellowship. 4th and 5thSunday of every month.
REACH - We house the community's
homeless residents for two weeks eachwinter.

Red Bird Mission - This mission in Beverly Kentucky serves the physical, educational and spriritual needs of Appalachia. There are opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to participate in this trip.

Love INC - a cooperative of local churches serving the needs of county residents. We provide gas cards for transportation and bedding to clients.
St. Andrew's Soup Kitchen - We serve breakfast and visit with clients at this Ann Arbor facility several times per year.
CASS Blitz - 3 day blitzes of work at CASS community services. Work will vary depending on the need and skills of participants.
Gleaner's Food Bank- We collect food weekly for the local food bank and volunteer labor monthly.
CROP Walk - Every fall we participate in this national fundraiser supporting hunger causes
locally and abroad.
Haiti - We will be working at King's Hospital complex in Port au Prince on medical,construction and other tasks.
Salvation Army - We ring bells and provide gifts at Christmas. We provide Easter clothes and house the homeless for 2 weeks each year.
 

Early Response Team - This team of volunteers responds to natural and man-made disasters in the U.S. Skills range from listening to victims to stripping flood soaked homes.

Hickory Haven - The 3rd Tuesday of the month we host a birthday party at this local long-term care facility. Children are encouraged to participate.
 
Spirit Lake Reservation - A one week trip to North Dakota to serve the people through light and heavy work projects.
   
a periodic trip to our sister church to serve her people. We also continue to financially support them.
